Immune System – How To Strengthen Immunity?

By on April 5, 2019

The immune system consists of cells, tissues and organs of the body and is able to identify millions of potential enemies-bacteria, viruses, parasites or any other foreign bodies or organs that can cause our infection.

How complex and effective is the body, the immune system can be weakened by various disorders of nutrition, stress, lack of rest, sedentary or other causes that reduce its ability to adequately respond to infection.

Immune shield

The immune system cannot be quickly “restored” if there is good food, but in the end it can be helped by a few simple and natural methods.

Excessive fatigue is especially harmful to the immune system. A minimum of 6-7 hours of sleep per day is required to keep the body at rest. There are different theories about the number of hours of sleep needed by a person.

The answer is still being discussed by researchers, but each of us can find out how much sleep he needs to feel rested, and it will affect his health.

Smoking. Everyone agrees that smoking is harmful, including secondhand smoke. Try to minimize this defect or generally refuse and spend time with those who smoke.

Alcohol consumption. A glass of wine a day seems to be beneficial to the body, but any excess affects the immune system, suppressing its ability to react.

It is recommended to reduce the amount of alcohol consumed and, if you happen to exceed the limit in different cases, avoid exposure to as many germs, viruses or colds as possible until the body recovers.

Consume foods that support the immune system. Here we can list citrus, red pepper, broccoli, garlic, spinach, yogurt, hazelnut, turmeric, green tea, papaya, sunflower seeds, seafood, echinacea or ginseng.

This list may be longer if we enumerate products that contain particularly vitamin D and vitamin C. At least in the season of fresh fruits and vegetables, we should not forget to take a vitamin cure.

Solar exposure is useful thanks to the body’s help in the synthesis of vitamin D. In particular, children should enjoy the true sunbathing as much as possible in the morning and evening. Be careful not to expose yourself to too much sun exposure, as this can cause skin problems.

Probiotics. Whether in the form of yogurt or biologically active additives, probiotics help the body to fight infections caused by viruses or bacteria. These are useful microorganisms that regulate the flora of the human body and maintain immunity.

Herbs. Ginseng and Astragal are just two of the many medicinal plants that can contribute to the wellbeing of the immune system.

Smyrna. It is resin with antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal properties, which can be purchased in the form of essential oil. Smyrna is used all over the world due to the ability to stop bleeding, heal wounds or remove heat.

Oregano oil helps to improve the immune system due to its antibacterial, antiviral and anti-parasitic properties.

Sport supports the immune system. Regular exercises, especially if they are conducted outdoors, help to maintain the silhouette, but also strengthen the body, increasing the ability of the immune system to fight colds, allergies or viruses.

Hygiene. It is not a catalyst for the immune system, but it plays an important role in reducing the risk of disease.

Even if you “feel good” now, remember that infections can affect us all, regardless of age. Strengthen your immune system and do not forget to protect yourself, especially during the cold season, when the immune system is most in demand.
